Community Development

COMMITTEE GOAL: To build and sustain a “liveable community” for all ages, which fosters a sense of ownership and inclusiveness. The Community Development Committee will partner with various agencies and among different sectors within communities to promote the physical and mental health and well being of all citizens; promote pride of ownership and awareness of community resources; and strengthen and bring about change in underserved communities.

Political Awareness

COMMITTEE GOAL: To provide a variety of tools and activities that will allow individuals to come together and to use their voice in support of the expansion, protection, and defense of the right to vote in order to preserve and strengthen democracy at the local, state, and federal levels. Furthermore, our purpose is to ensure that all voters have an equal opportunity to vote and have access to information that will help them make informed decisions.

Police & Community Relations

COMMITTEE GOAL: To provide a thorough and complete review and reformation of police policies, protocols, practices, and funding as needed to ensure that all citizens are treated fairly and equally and that law enforcement is trained in understanding and eliminating racism and injustice in all policing policies and practices.

Communications

COMMITTEE GOALS: To promote CURRE through print media, social media, and the organization’s website.  To provide all formal communication on behalf of CURRE, including letters of support, media releases and any other communication as needed.
