A Different Kind of Think Tank

This is an opportunity for an average everyday regular citizen, who probably has never had contact with a police officer, other than maybe a traffic ticket, to talk to a real live police officer on a distant one-on-one basis regarding issues and problems related to law enforcement strategy, logistics, application, training and also to maybe provide valuable information that can and should be directed to the proper authorities for enforcement and remedy, to ultimately help improve our community. Mission Statement

A different kind of discussion group - this would be an understatement. This “Think Tank” website was created, developed and paid for by a currently employed Veteran Police Detective, on medical leave, whose sole purpose is to improve the day-to-day living conditions of his community through interaction on a one-on-one basis via the internet, with conscientious citizens in Clark County who feel the same way.

Las Vegas Strip

It is important to know a little about the founder and coordinator of this website (Think Tank) discussion group. Detective Gordon Martines, 61 years of age, assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Bureau for the past 16 years, employed by the LVMPD for the past 33 years with a total of 37 years in the Law Enforcement field, three time candidate for Sheriff of Clark County, Nevada, 18 years as Co-founder and former President of STOP DUI INC. Detective Martines’s vast experience, as a true focused professional, has worked in various sections of the police department in direct hands-on in the trenches type of contact with the criminal element of this community, along with being a “Subject Matter Expert” and instructor in the areas of Kidnap, Extortion, Robbery, Robbery Decoy Operations and other crimes against persons, gives a him a rather unique perspective on real life problems and possible remedies that directly affect our specific community in Clark County.

That being said, this is an opportunity for an average everyday regular citizen, who probably never had contact with a police officer, other than maybe a traffic ticket, to converse with a real live police officer on a removed and distant one-on-one basis, regarding issues and problems related to law enforcement strategy, logistics, application, training and also to maybe provide valuable information that can and should be directed to the proper authorities for enforcement and remedy, to ultimately help improve our community.

As an added bonus, your comments and remedies or portions thereof, could be posted and published in a local newspaper for others in the community to review and to join in the discussion, and contribute their suggestions and remedies. Note: Please keep the salty language and personal attacks to a minimum.

(Anonymity) is a must, as undoubtedly the subjects, issues and incidents that will probably be discussed could have a direct or indirect impact on criminal and civil issues and litigation presently being addressed and plaguing our community, so any/all comments will be considered legally and ethically to be (Alleged) and not representative or associated with the LVMPD or any other Law Enforcement Agency or Judicial system, it is therefore strongly encouraged that you do (Not) use your real name or identity.

As always, if any of the providers, participants or just plain bloggers are somehow contacted by anyone, CURRE.org will disavow any/all knowledge of their existence. (I loved Mission Impossible)
